Ann had an illegitimate son (William) earlier in 1829, no father was recorded at the baptism, but James is suspected to have been the father. James and Ann had at least three other children – Ansley (1834), Frances (136) and Alfred (1839). All three of their children were born at The Hall, Rotherfield where they lived with James’ parents.

Ann died, possibly from complications from the birth of her last child in March 1839, at The Hall in late June 1839 aged only 26 years (Uckfield 1839 September qtr Volume 7 Page 275). She was buried at Rotherfield on 3rd July 1839.
