1.3.12.3.1 ~ Richard Alchin
Richard was probably born at Bearsted or Maidstone
in the 1760’s. His father’s will dated 1803 describes Richard as a school
master of Maidstone. Richard was an Executor and the chief beneficiary
of his father’s estate.
1.3.12.3.2 ~ Ann Alchin
Ann was probably born at Bearsted or Maidstone in the
1760’s. She married Thomas Pint at Maidstone on 6th
October 1801. Thomas was a schoolmaster of Maidstone. Thomas was one of
the Executors of the will of his father in law Richard Alchin in 1803.
1.3.12.4 ~ Henry Alchin
Henry was baptised at St Mary’s church, West Malling
on 14th May 1738. He was buried at West
Malling on 14th June 1739.
1.3.13 ~ Anne Alchin
Anne was baptised at the church
of St Peter and St Paul, Leybourne on 1st April 1702.
1.4 ~ Anthony Alchin
Anthony was probably born at Leybourne in the early
1650’s and he may have been the youngest surviving son of Thomas of Leybourne.
There is a possibility that he was the Anthony Alchorne son of Thomas
Alchorne who was baptised at Rotherfield in Sussex
on 13th April 1645.
Anthony seems to have been a family name and he may have been a descendant
of Anthony Alchin, the son of William and Eleanor Alchin, who was born
at Rotherfield in 1554.
Anthony probably married Elizabeth Roberts at St Dunstan’s
church, Canterbury in Kent on
16th April 1676. They
had at least two children – Anthony (c 1683) and Thomas (1680’s). Anthony
senior died before 1701 when his widow was bequeathed 5 pounds by Thomas
Alchin of Leybourne:
“Item I give and bequeath unto my daughter
in Law Alchin widow late wife of my Said Sonn Anthony Alchin deceased
the Sume of five pounds to be paid unto her within one Years next after
my decease by my Executor”.
Elizabeth Alchin was buried at West Malling on 13th
December 1725.
1.4.1 ~ Anthony Alchin
Anthony was probably born at Chart Sutton in Kent
in about 1683. He was bequeathed the sum of ten pounds by the will dated
1701 of his grandfather Thomas Alchin of Leybourne:
“Item I give and bequeath unto
my Grandsonn Anthony Alchin Sonn of my Sonn Anthony Alchin decd.
the Sume of Tenn pounds to be paid unto him att his Age of One and twenty
Yeares by my Executor if he shall live to attaine that Age But if he
shall happen to dye before he shall attaine his Said Age of One and
twenty Yeares then I give and bequeath the Said Sume of Tenn pounds
unto my Executor hereinafter named “
Anthony probably married Hannah Bigg at Chart Sutton
on 2nd November 1708.
Anthony may have been buried at East Malling on 4th April 1735although there is nothing to suggest
that this was him.
1.4.2 ~ Thomas Alchin
Thomas was probably born in the mid-1680’s. We only
know of him from a bequest from his grandfather Thomas Alchin of Leybourne:
“Item I give and bequeath unto
my grandsonn Thomas Alchin Sonn of my Said Sonn Anthony Alchin decd.
the Sume of five pounds to be paid unto him within one yeare next after
my decease by my Executor”.
It is possible that Thomas married and baptised children
at either Halling or Wilmington (he is the right age for either). It is
also possible that he was buried at West Malling on 13th September 1738.
2 ~ Elizabeth Alchin
Elizabeth was the daughter of Henry Alchin. The only
information we have about her is that she was buried at Chevening on 22nd April 1623.
3 ~ Richard Alchin
Richard was baptised at St Botolph’s church, Chevening
on 4th October 1624.
He married an unknown woman and they had at least one child – Richard
(1645). Nothing more is known of this family.
3.1 ~ Richard Alchin
Richard was baptised at St Botolph’s church, Chevening
on 10th January 1645.
